Prizes and Money Empty Prizes and Money

Sat Oct 07, 2017 12:04 pm
Each of the 3 prize pools is equal in size. The six highest-scoring teams for the Full Year, First Half, and Second Half contests split the dough in each of the 3 pools by percentage from first place on down: 48-24-12-8-4-4.

I am thinking that we should drop the number of teams getting paid from 6 per game down to 5 per game unless we can get our league back up to 45+ teams. The earnings for a 5th and 6th place finish this year was less than $50.

Three even pools is a recent change. I think it works fine. Previously each half was 30% of the total pool $ and the full year was 40%. In the end, it didn't make much difference and it simplified the numbers some.

Paying 6th place is also recent as was killing the prize for last place. Previously we paid the top 5 teams in each game. There were 15 prizes but a lot of duplication. Paying 6th was added to get one or two more teams into the money, giving a few more teams a little more action.

Basing the number of payouts on the number of teams makes sense.

For every 7th team, we will add a payout. If we get to 42 teams, we will payout six places. For 49 teams, we will go to 7 teams. This past year we would have paid to 5 teams with 39 in the league. What do you think?
